Dressed on a dark blue alligator leather strap hand finished by Italian shoemaker, Santoni, this elegant IWC Schaffhausen Portugieser watch completes a sophisticated look easily. Its slim bezel measuring a 40.4mm diameter is part of a 30 meter water resistant stainless steel case. Blued central hour and minute hands are propelled around a classic silver plated dial via the in house developed Calibre 82200.
The self winding movement provides an impressive 60 hour power reserve and beats at a performance of 28,800 vibrations per hour. A total of 224 intricate components make up this reliable engine, put on show behind a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback. This special lens is integrated with scratch resistant and anti reflective properties for granting a clear view of the movement. On the front side of the watch a convex lens made from the same material is also treated on both sides with IWC Schaffhausen’s anti reflective technology. The first Portugieser watch debuted in the 1930s after two businessmen envisioned creating a wristwatch in pocket watch size, equipped with a movement that offered marine chronometer accuracy.
