IWC Watch Portugieser Automatic IW500714.
IWC Schaffhausen engineered their very first Portugieser watch in the 1930s and since then, it has remained one of the Swiss watch manufacturer’s most coveted timepieces. This 42.3mm men’s Portugieser watch is crafted from stainless steel, chosen for its anti-corrosive qualities, and detailed with a well-balanced dial dressed in an unmissable shade of burgundy. Alongside central hands for hours and minutes, the dial is home to a small seconds dial at 9 o’clock and a clear, easy to read power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock. In addition to this, a useful date aperture resides at 6 o’clock, alongside a classic hour track in classic Arabic numerals rendered in luxurious steel.
The beating heart of the IWC Portugieser Automatic watch is the IWC-manufacturer calibre 52010 which is capable of providing a 7 day power reserve and performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Hand decorated and assembled by some of the world’s most highly skilled artisans, some of the 257 individual components of the Calibre 52010 including the 18 carat gold medallion rotor can be witnessed through the mesmerising exhibition case back. The IWC Portugieser watch continues to impress with a 30 metre water resistant rating, a black Santorini leather strap with engraved pin buckle and convex scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass treated with an anti-reflective coating.
